“Blee Blah Bloo Bleh”
Many of you may already know that our Tale Tree kiddos are especially curious to learn more about their surroundings and also about current events. With wildfires affecting so much of California’s residents, this week’s sessions naturally led to bigger conversations on the climate crisis. Though their work may show images of aliens, haunted houses, and mountains made of ice cream, the conversations we have during Creative Camps are often deep and reflective of bigger ideas. As these discussions strike new creative thoughts, I encourage parents to help nurture these meaningful reflections. Some may show their thoughts through a weekly challenge and others may choose to create their own response. Both are welcome at our Creative Camps!
In the coming weeks, we will share more details about a very special camp session with Argentinian artist Elisa Insua whose colorful, bright artwork has been shown all around the world. Featured on BBC, her work is rooted in finding beauty within mundane objects around us. This will be a great opportunity for our Tale Tree kids to share this experience with their friends! More details to come :-)
Challenge 1
Design your own haunted house. What would be in there? How would you scare people?
Challenge 2
Imagine you visited Jupiter in your shiny new rocketship. When you arrived, you were greeted by aliens and they crowned you as the new ruler of the planet. What happened next?
Challenge 3
Write a poem or a jingle (short song) about a special memory with your best friend.
Kids’ own creations
Little Ones
Imagine you are an ice cream maker. What new flavor would you like to create?
2. One day, you woke up with a new pair of wings! You decide it’s time to go on an adventure. Where would you like to go? Would you bring anyone with you?
