How Can We Keep from Singing?

Did you know that listening to music can serve as an exercise for the mind? Yes, it has been proven that listening to music can lower negative feelings and improve cognitive functioning for humans. When is the last time you have listened to music? Did you feel connected within yourself?

According to an article titled “Keep Your Brain Young With Music” posted on the Johns Hopkins website, listening to music will boost brain creativity, which is the essential mission of TaleTree. The article suggests that we listen to several genres of music simply because it will challenge our minds to think differently from what we are used to. Here’s an idea! Why not listen to music from different genres and artists?

Our camp captains were elated to hear one camper share music that she assembled. Inspired by a video game, Adelyn from camp Oslo created a remix of the various video game noises. She is very skilled in recognizing the certain tones and pitches of the music and incorporates sounds and feelings into her imagery.

Our campers continue to inspire others every day! Try listening to a different genre of music and take note of your feelings. You may come to enjoy the challenge and improve your creative abilities-just like our Adelyn.

Animal Party!

This challenge was inspired by Sydney, a camper from the Accra group. It’s lovely to see these animals prepared for a festive time with friends. What do you think they’re celebrating together?

The Most Creative Thing Ever!

In honor of National Creativity Day, which took place on May 30th, our campers were encouraged to design or share the most creative thing they’ve ever made. Here is a pair of scissors that cut with the press of a button!

Love is the Answer

At TaleTree, it is always important that we are act with love. Specifically, we facilitate an environment of respect and admire self expression. During this challenge, we asked campers to demonstrate how they share love with others.

The Best Weddings Ever!

The campers have been very open when it comes to sharing their various cultural traditions, and we are joyful to provide the space for the children to do so. Therefore, this challenge was created to share cultural wedding traditions. Two of our campers were kind enough to share both Chinese and glass-breaking traditions. Have you ever experienced what is depicted below?
