Short and Long Term Memory

Do you have a good memory?

Have you ever wondered about the incredible power of your brain and how it helps you remember things? Imagine your memory as a superhero, always ready to save the day by holding onto precious moments. Short-term memory is like a quick-thinking sidekick, helping you remember things for a short while, like a shopping list or a friend's phone number. It is handy for everyday tasks, but it is a bit like a temporary sticky note – it won't last forever!

Now, long-term memory is the real hero, swooping in to store important memories for the long haul. It is like a treasure chest full of experiences, adventures, and moments that shape who you are. Have you ever wondered how far back you can remember? Well, on average, most people can recall memories from around the age of 3 or 4. It is like the first chapter in the storybook of your life!

Speaking of early memories, our friend, Chan, shared a memory from when he was three during camp, leaving us all in awe. It turns out that memories from such a young age are like hidden gems. The brain is still growing and developing during those early years, and each memory is like a tiny snapshot that captures a moment in time.

Now, what makes someone's memory better than someone else's? Some people might have a photographic memory, allowing them to remember details with incredible precision. Others might excel at remembering faces, while some are fantastic at recalling facts. The key is to find what works best for you – whether it's creating vivid mental images, making connections, or using fun mnemonics to remember things.

Cherish the incredible power of your memory. It's your personal time-travel machine, allowing you to revisit the past and learn from it. Who knows what amazing memories you will create and share in the future? Embrace the magic within your mind, and let the journey through your memories be as enchanting as the memories themselves!

Connect the dots!

Our friend @superduper used a single dot as an artwork! Can you imagine what else you can make of connecting more of these dots? The stars in the sky! When you look up to the sky what can you see? What can you recreate by connecting many dots?

What can you use to deliver Christmas presents?

Have you seen our friend @Makay’s artwork? @Makay used different elements to create what looks like a fire truck. What other type of vehicles can you think of? Can you make your own type of car or even a sleigh? What else can you use to move Christmas presents all over the world?
