Spooky Season Anytime

Halloween in January?

Even though the calendar says January and Halloween is a distant memory, something magical (or maybe a bit spooky) has been happening at our camp lately. Over the past two weeks, the air has been tinged with an enchanting chill as our fellow campers have taken a deep dive into the world of all things spooky.

Seah has been our spooky resident enthusiast! Just last week, she unleashed a spine-tingling story that captivated our imaginations. It was about two siblings who are walking through the woods to their aunt and uncle's house, while telling each other scary stories. She also created a captivating drawing of a ghost girl. Her face and body were made up of ghosts, skeletons, headstones, and lightning. Seah created a story on the spot that explained the girl, and her background. Her imagination truly wowed everyone.

Seah wasn't alone in her spectral creations. This week, our creative genius Jane joined the spooky bandwagon with a monster creation that is nothing short of hair-raising. Imagine a creature with the word "Run" ominously scribbled in the corner. Jane didn't stop there – she spun a tale that left us all with goosebumps. The intrigue skyrocketed, and everyone bombarded her with questions, eager to unravel the mystery behind her monstrous creation.

Now, we get it – talking about spooky stuff isn't everyone's favorite subject, but here's the thing – it can be a blast when we remember that these stories are pure make-believe. Monsters aren't real; they're just figments of our wild and creative imaginations.

So, campers, let's celebrate the spooky spirit that has woven its way into our January days. Let our imaginations run wild, let the chills crawl up our spines, and let's revel in the fantastical tales that Seah, Jane, and all of us create. After all, a good story, even a spooky one, is a treasure that stays with us long after the words have been spoken.
