Title: Rainforest and its animals
Time/Date: 5 PM PST, Tue. December 27th (10 AM Korea & 9 AM Philippines, Sat, the 28th)
Rainforests are the lungs of the world. The Amazon, Congo, Australiasia, Sundaland, and Indo-Burma are the 5 major rainforests in the world.
They are so important because they absorb carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases and they could keep our earth breathing. A bunch of plants and animals live there and they provide us with enormous natural resources. Much of the world’s rainforests are being destroyed by humans for cattle farming, timber, road construction, etc.
Rainforest destruction will affect our kids in the future, and it’s critical we educate our kids about the importance of rainforests and how to keep them healthy. At our December Special Camp, our kids will meet Kelsey, who is a specialist at the Academy of Sciences, San Francisco, in researching rainforests and the animals that live in those rainforests.

"Do you know rainforests are so important for the world? There are so many trees and plants in the rainforest that absorb carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases. You can find a lot of wildlife animals there as well. What if you walked into the Amazon rainforest, what animals would you encounter? Draw at least three animals you would meet there”
