The power of sharing the same interests

When these kids create things based on their interests, they come up with some really sweet things. Daniel, a 8 year-old boy, loves to talk about history. In his comic of World War 2, nachos fight against each other using guns that shoot salsa and cheese. Turning terrible history into something funny and innocent! Another kid, Kate, got so inspired by his story and she made another comic with strawberry soldiers instead of nachos. Her guns shoot apples in addition to cheese and salsa. She giggled even before we started reading the comic together. “This is so funny. I liked Daniel’s comic last week, so I made something just like that”, said she. Daniel didn’t mind her copying his story. He actually loved it. He just thought that it was funny she named it World War 1 but the story wasn’t based on the actual war history.

Exchanging ideas so innocently is what these kids do. They don’t blame each other. They praise each other, instead. This is how they have fun at the Tale Tree Creative Camp.
