Flourish Together

Regardless of age, people want to be seen, to be heard, and to be a part of something bigger than themselves. Most of us are wired this way, to find comfort in giving and receiving affirmation and encouragement from respected peers. As our own Creative Campers explore these sentiments through our discussions, we often discover new intersections of interests that lead to stronger ties amongst the group.

We challenged the kids to create a story behind the friendship of Panda & Dino, a cartoon duo designed by our own camper Rafael. The handful of kids who submitted responses to this challenge were eager to share their comics, stories, and drawings, perhaps hoping their hard work would be appreciated by their fellow camper. In seeing how dedicated his peers were to fulfilling their storylines, Rafael expressed a newfound confidence in his own creativity as well. Sharing these projects led to even deeper conversations about how creativity doesn’t just have to end at one project. Ideas can multiply over time, and perhaps become bigger and better with collaborative efforts of a group.

Creativity and collaboration don’t have to exist in the same space, but they sure do thrive and flourish when both are present. See how our Creative Campers’ great minds work together to foster a culture of kindness through uplifting, encouraging, collaborative efforts.
