Yummy in my Tummy

Many of our campers express deep interest in cooking and baking. This week alone, we’ve seen everything from popsicle recipes and spicy Korean ddukbokki to bagel pizzas and smoothies. What’s been so wonderful about sharing recipes is that cooking is customizable and therefore encourages different interpretations amongst campers.

While Aaradhya shared her popsicle recipe, loaded with berries of all sorts, her friends compared notes about what other fruits they’ve tried in their own fruit popsicle recipes. They discussed how certain flavors may change by swapping out one ingredient, and also recommended assortments of fruit combinations to one another.

By simply comparing notes on basic ingredients for a homemade fruit popsicle, our campers find encouragement to try something different and new that they may not have considered before. It’s important to share what we already know and enjoy, but it’s also valuable to our growth when we find inspiration to experience something new. What new things will you try this week?

”If you never did you should. These things are fun and fun is good.”
