Animals vs. People

Animals Above All

Do you think animals and people are similar in anyway? Our kids at TaleTree do. Animals are just like us if you really think about it. They need food, shelter, water, love, attention, and friends. Our campers love animals so much, they talk about them at every camp. Whether they love their pet, their stuffed animal, or just animals in general, they all have a favorite one. Many of our kids love dogs, but we have all different types of animal lovers. Some love birds, reptiles, cheetahs, dinosaurs, and so much more. They all treat animals so nicely, and it is wonderful how something so simple, such as a pet, can connect all of us. If you do not have a pet, a stuffed animal is perfect too! Alice showed us her stuffed animal Dumbo, and all the kids loved it. Although it is not a real animal, fake ones can still spark a good conversation topic. If we could, we would talk about animals for hours with them.

Pets

Many of our campers have gotten new pets recently, and we love when we get to see them. Hayim has a new puppy named Jadoo, Aaron has a new leopard gecko named Blink, and Stella has a new puppy named Nora. All three of them love to show us their pets. Aaron had the camera on Blink during one whole camp, and he gave him a little voice to talk to us with. It is amazing what creative things these kids can come up with centered around their favorite animals. They care for their pets so much, and we are super excited to watch them grow.

Our Eyes, The Window to Our Souls

Our eyes are very important because of many reasons. When you speak with others, you usually look at the eyes to connect well with other people. Some of our friends love to draw an eye (or eyes). Can you draw eyes that contain different feelings?

Reduce, Reuse, & Recycle

Have you been buying new things for your new school year? Remember you don't need to buy everything brand new. Find the things you can reuse or recycle. Show us some examples.

Learning Animal Series #1- Platypus

If you created an animal collecting different parts of multiple animals, you might end up creating the platypus. What would you create if you could put multiple animals together to make one?

Dream Big

We have our monthly camps to show you what kind of things grownups do or specialize in. Visualize what you would like to do when you grow up! Ask your mom and dad what their dreams were when they were at your age, too. Everyone can dream about something and that's where everything starts :) Tell us what you desire to be or do.

What Are These Little Creatures? Learning Animal Series #2- Sea Otters

Can you come up with 10 cutest animals in the world? If you have made a list, maybe the sea otter is on your list :) Learn about them and sketch a lovely sea otter!
