Getting Older

Growing up and getting older may seem scary, but there are so many exciting things that happen as we age. There are also very many things to look forward to. We look forward to birthdays, getting taller, getting new clothes, the holidays, making friends, moving up a grade, and so much more. The idea of getting older seems scary because we are given more responsibilities, but with those responsibilities come even more things to be excited about. This is a far way away, but before you know it, you will be looking forward to what college you want to go to, what you want to study, what job you might want, where you are going to live, and who you are going to spend your time with. Being an older kid can be very fun, as long as you make the best out of growing up.

As we get older, we learn a ton of new things. With age comes wisdom and knowledge, and as we all know, learning can be fun! As we get older, we experience more changes. We experience physical, mental, and emotional changes. One physical change that all kids go through, that also excites them all, is the process of losing teeth. The tooth begins to wiggle, and we wait each day until it is ready to come out. We tell all of our friends about it, and we are cautious when we eat. We look forward to the day it finally releases, and we get to go to sleep and wait for the tooth fairy to come. Many of our kids at TaleTree right now are losing teeth. We had four kids in one group with a wiggly tooth, and if they did not have one at the time, they had lost a tooth before. That is the beauty of growing up. Although it can seem terrifying, everyone is doing it together. Even adults still have growing up to do, whether or not they look like they are grown. Growing up happens all throughout life, and it is something to constantly look forward to. The more we grow, the better people we become, and the better we understand the world around us.
