The Art of Folding Paper

What is Origami?
You have probably heard of it before, maybe even tried your hand at it once or twice, but let's dive a little deeper into this awesome art form. Origami is all about folding paper into different shapes and figures. It's like magic, but with paper!

Now, I get it. Origami can seem pretty tricky, especially when you are just starting out. But here's the thing: you're not alone! Plenty of kids feel the same way. And here's the cool part: even if it feels tough at first, there's something really special about origami that brings us all together.

Have you ever made a fortune teller origami? You know, that cool little paper game where you pick numbers and colors to reveal your fortune? Well, guess what? Everyone in one of our groups knows how to make it from memory! Ellie made it from memory during camp very quickly to show off her skills. It was so cool to see her put it together that fast.

Now, let me introduce you to our camper, Jay. Jay is an origami pro! He is like the origami master of our group. He's got this amazing book that shows him how to make all sorts of things out of paper. Every week, he blows our minds with something new. Seriously, the stuff he makes is jaw-dropping! He’s made people, animals, robots, and so much more! It just goes to show that with practice and patience, you can become a true origami artist.

So, here's a challenge for you: next time you see a piece of paper lying around, why not give origami a try? Who knows, you might discover a hidden talent just waiting to unfold! If it may not be your thing, that is okay, but you can still appreciate the beauty and hardwork behind it!

Greetings, everyone! I'm Robin from CARDA, where we specialize in supporting law enforcement in locating the missing. We need to get intensive training with our trusty canine companions, building a strong bond to achieve our mission. I'm excited to share some stories with TaleTree kids about working alongside my faithful partner, Nova, in our search efforts. Before we dive into our adventures, I'm eager to hear your thoughts. Can you imagine how I train Nova? Sketch your thoughts on what's needed to train Nova! ;)
