TaleTree Song

Chorus to the TaleTree Song:

In the branches that we call home

We share creations of our own

With every word, we're better friends

Let's tell this tale until the end

Our hearts will always find a way

to brighten up everyone's day

From face-to-face, or on a screen

We'll always be TaleTree

(We'll always be TaleTree)

Our 13-year-old camp member, Sasha, wrote this beautiful song up above.

The lyrics greatly explain the meaning of TaleTree and how special it is to all of our kids. It is amazing what kids can accomplish, and how their creativity comes through so many different ways. Sasha’s creativity shines brightly through the production of her song. She used a very pretty melody, creating it by playing her ukulele. This song goes to show that when kids are supported and nurtured, they truly are capable of everything. Sasha and her mom often times sing together, and her mom talks with her about the creation process of songs. This engagement goes to show that encouragement and support are two big things kids need in order to thrive.

Within the creative camp, the other kids loved her song and gave her many positive comments which helped to make her more confident. Our goal is to make kids more confident through social and emotional skills, and it is great to be able to see how supportive our campers are of one another.

Sasha’s song goes to show that music can help with creativity. The article below states that listening to music can help to decrease anxiety and help increase mood, which in turn helps to facilitate creative thinking. Next time you are in are in a creative funk, try listening to music to see if it can help spark any ideas!
