Create Your Character
Do you play videos?
Do you have a favorite movie?
Favorite TV show?
Do you like super heroes?
Would you like to be an animal?
Do you have a favorite celebrity?
If so, can you create a character based on them?
Our camp kids love to create new characters.
It is amazing how inspired kids can be by those who they surround themselves with, those they watch, or even simply just things they see. This week, many of our camp kids have begun to create characters of their own. They create all different types of characters, whether it be someone from their favorite movie, a celebrity they like, or even just a character they came up with on their own. We love to see how creative they can get, and who/what they are able to create with their imaginations.
One of our camp kids, Jayden, created a digital drawing of one his favorite Youtubers. Because the Youtuber wears a mask in his videos, Jayden recreated this, and gave the guy a mouth, even though he does not know what his actual mouth looks like (you can see his creation below). Other kids also create characters, often giving them characteristics to help bring them to life. We would love to see what kind of character you can come up with, or hear about who you favorite character may be!
A Spark of Positivity
We have had a few new camp kids join us this week and we are amazed at how quickly they can adjust to the camp. They radiate positivity, and always have nice things to say to their other camp friends. One of our camp members was a little shy during her first camp, but had later said that she really enjoyed seeing how nice and positive everyone was. She was shocked at how kindly they treated each other and thought the things that each kid said about each other’s creations was wonderful. Within this camp, we encourage positivity, and we love to see how happy a simple compliment can make a kid.
Create a Game for Your Friends
Our friend Cody loves to make games for her friends. Can you also make a game for your friends?
The Continent, Africa
When thinking about Africa, I think of very hot weather. What about you? What comes to mind when you think about Africa?
