Embrace Your Funny Side

There are so many different ways to be funny, but what does being funny mean to you? How do you like to make your friends and family laugh? Are you able to do this through art? We have seen funny art through the use of comics, but can you challenge yourself to come up with another way to make your art funny?

This week has been a silly one with all of our camp kids. We love to see how they can express their funny side through their artwork. Comics have been very popular this week, and the kids love to come up with the most random things. One camp kid named Mykayla, created a comic about an event that actually happened in real life, and although the storyline was sad, the comic made us all smile. This was because she made it much more dramatic than what had actually happened in real life. She showed her friend scream crying due to what had happened, but in reality, her friend did not cry at all. It is amazing how they are able to use their imaginations to make the story even more engaging.

Another one of our camp members, Jane, always makes us laugh. She has a lot of energy and comes up with the silliest things. This week, she showed us all how to make a mustache out of a piece of paper, and how to tape it to our faces. This was the perfect art creation for this month, as November is known as No Shave November. No Shave November is when men grown out their facial hair for the whole month.

A New Format for Challenges

When you go to challenges on the TaleTree website, you can see that the format for the challenges has changed. The format is designed so that kids can choose their favorite genres, and complete challenges centered around those. While being able to choose what interests them most, they also can see old challenges, and what their friends have submitted for those. This change will help us better understand our kids passions, and allow us to find new areas of interest that we might need to expose more. Down below are pictures of what the new format looks like.
