Favorite Things

Food, colors, animals, books, characters, movies, toys, and so much more. There are so many things in the world to love, and having favorite things are what makes us all who we are.

We all have favorite things, and it is fun finding out that you may share that favorite thing with another friend! During camp, we found out that many of the kids are more alike than they think. They often all share a similar favorite color, or they all like similar animals. On Monday, we discovered that almost all of the girls in the group dislike the color pink, and love the color blue. It was interesting to hear that they did not like pink because they think it is too girly. We love learning about their favorite things, and what makes them like them.

Another thing we found out was that many people like hamsters. Yeonju, one of our camp members, drew a hamster, and then we got to virtually meet Hayim’s hamster named Creamy. Everyone thought Creamy was so cute, and it was fun being able to see how happy a little animal made them all. Yeonju’s drawing really brought the group together. Davina happened to have a sticker that looked almost identical to Yeonju’s drawing and it was really cool that she made up her own drawing, but that a sticker had already been made out of it. Something we think that would be awesome is if you guys could turn some our your own artwork into stickers! If you could turn one thing into a sticker, what would it be? March 14 was the International Day of Math. One big area of math is Geometry, which is the study of shapes, sizes, positions, angles, and dimensions of things. Can you create your own abstract art?

The United World of Food and Nachoman

Have you ever imagined the food you eat might have feelings or personalities? Soeun definitely has! She is coming up with a story about a guy named Nachoman, and his friend Berry. They want to save their fruit friends from being sent to grocery stores. Can you come up with a character for her to add to her story?
