New Year’s Resolutions

What are Resolutions?

A New Year’s resolution is a goal that a person sets for themselves during the new year, that is achievable, but will help to make their life even better. Although we may already be two weeks into the new year, it is never too late to come up with some resolutions. We got to hear some of our TaleTree friends New Year’s Resolutions on Friday, and we look forward to hearing if any of the other kids have some resolutions that they have yet to share with us. Resolutions are a great way to start the year, and works towards doing something that you know will better yourself. Suah, one of our members, shared a multiple page write up that she wrote during class about all of her resolutions, and how she believes they will benefit her, and make for a better year. This write up sparked an amazing conversation during camp, where we got to hear from the rest of the members of the group what they hope to achieve this year. Some popular examples were: keeping their room clean, trying a new hobby, saving their money, getting more sleep each night, and adding more fruits and vegetables into their diet. When you think about the New Year, what do you hope to achieve?

Bring Old Toys to Life

We know we talk about this with you all often, but it is so important to think about how much stuff we have. New toys are always super exciting, but that does not always mean we need them. As consumers, it is crucial that we are cautious about the things we have, and give ourselves a moment to think if we really need more. If you find yourself bored of some of your toys, go find some of your old ones that you have not played with in months, or maybe years. There are always new ways to repurpose old toys, and bring them back to life. For example, maybe you have a ton of old Legos. Instead of buying a new set, you can figure out how you can build your old Legos into something new. The more we are aware of all that we have and we work towards differentiating between wants and needs, we help save the planet little by little. Less is always more, and we are sure that some of your old toys are starting to get lonely! Bring them out and enjoy them how you did when you were younger!

A New Form of Earth?
