International Women’s Day

Of course we have a lot of love for men, but this week we want to show a lot of our love and appreciation to women. Our camp member, MZ, brought women’s day to our attention with a background he had used on zoom during camp. It started a wonderful conversation. The month of March is Women’s History Month. March 8th is International Women’s Day. This day is dedicated to celebrating women’s social, political, economic, and cultural achievements. It also is a call to action to continue fighting for gender equality. When we asked MZ if he knew what International Women’s Day was, he was unsure, along with many other members of the group, but when we asked him why there is a day dedicated to women and not men, he gave a remarkable answer. He said that women and men should always be treated equally, and we have to continue fighting for that. In the old days, women were treated very poorly and had little to no rights. That is why we have a day dedicated to them. To continue fighting for women’s rights, and as MZ said, to make sure women are treated the same as men. Give the women in your life extra love this month! It is good to always give them love, but make sure they know you appreciate them. Maybe you do not know a lot of women, but the most important women in your life should be your mom! Our moms do so much for us, and we are so lucky to have them. Whenever you get the chance, give your mom a big hug, and thank her for all that she does for you!

What does friendship mean to you?

We had our first-ever friendship day in CA over the past weekend. It was so good to meet our TaleTree friends there, create some art, and decorate the cupcakes Sophie made for us. Sorry if you couldn't join because you live far away, or you were sick over the weekend. We hope to have many international TaleTree Friendship Days in the future. What does friendship mean to you? Why does it matter?

What have you learned today?

Sasha loves science. She loves art as well. Since she loves those two subjects, she combined them together and made a science comic about death of a large star. A very fun way of showing what you've learned. Create art about one of the things you've learned recently!

March 2023 Special Camp- Mascot for Ztractor

Our March Special Guest, Bakur, is the founder of an autonomous, electric tractor company called "Ztractor". He's got a very cool model tractor called "Bearcub 24". Can you create a mascot for Bearcub 24?
