Being Attentive

What does it mean to be attentive?

To be attentive means to play close attention to something. One thing we always focus on during TaleTree camps is making sure that our members are always paying attention to their friends when they are sharing their creations. We know it is easy to get distracted, but it is important to pay attention to what is being shared in order to show the members of your group you care. Often times, kids work on their own creations during camp, but this does not mean they are not listening. Juyoung is the perfect example of this. He typically is creating some sort of drawing during camp, but he is still able to listen to his friends. He always knows what is going on, and will give us his undivided attention if he wants to comment or ask a question about what is being shared. Another one of our members who pays great attention, and has an amazing memory is Jenna! A member of her group named Chan, shares a new section of the book he is writing every week. When we ask follow up questions about the story after Chan is done sharing, Jenna always knows the answers. It makes Chan so happy to know that his friends are able to follow along with his stories, and remember all the details within them. All of our kids are great at paying attention, and we want to thank them for that. Even when kids do not have something of their own to share, they still pay close attention to their friends. Sometimes we find the kids that do not have a creation of their own are the ones who always have the most feedback to give. It makes us so happy that they enjoy coming to camp regardless of it they are not going to share something of their own that they made. We want to thank all of you for your hard work! Keep it up!

What does friendship mean to you?

We had our first-ever friendship day in CA over the past weekend. It was so good to meet our TaleTree friends there, create some art, and decorate the cupcakes Sophie made for us. Sorry if you couldn't join because you live far away, or you were sick over the weekend. We hope to have many international TaleTree Friendship Days in the future. What does friendship mean to you? Why does it matter?

When it Rains…

Do you like rain? Doma loves to play soccer even when it rains. And you? What do you like to do when it rains?

Want to find out about someone?

Then, interview that person! Jayden has asked Sasha a few questions to find out a bit more about her. And then, he made a very fun comic about her. Can you interview your mom, dad, or your sibling? Ask them about what makes them happy or upset :) Or ask anything. Show us what you find out!

What have you learned today?

Sasha loves science. She loves art as well. Since she loves those two subjects, she combined them together and made a science comic about death of a large star. A very fun way of showing what you've learned. Create art about one of the things you've learned recently!

March 2023 Special Camp- Mascot for Ztractor

Our March Special Guest, Bakur, is the founder of an autonomous, electric tractor company called "Ztractor". He's got a very cool model tractor called "Bearcub 24". Can you create a mascot for Bearcub 24?
