The Power of Music

Music comes in all different shapes and sizes, but the one thing it always does is controls our mood. When listening to music, blood flow is increased to the brain regions that generate and control our emotions. These emotions can be sad or happy, and everything in between. That is why music is so powerful. Depending on what kind of song we are listening to, we will feel a certain way. We know here at TaleTree, music makes the majority of you very happy. It makes us very happy too when you share your music with us. This week, we got to hear an original song that Alex made. He is such a talented pianist, and we are so proud of how far he has come. On Friday, we shared his song with two groups, and they all loved it. They said his song was dreamy, and made them feel calm and relaxed. His song was just piano sounds, with no words, but it was still beautiful. Alex showed us the power of music, and how when certain sounds are put together, they can make you feel different ways. Another one our members who often shares their music with us is Sasha. She has written many of her own song lyrics, and she also generates her own music, like Alex. We are so amazed that our kids know how to make their own music, and they have a passion for doing so. Another member who really enjoys music and just started playing the bass at school is Grace. We have yet to hear her play, but we love that she also enjoys playing an instrument. Music is so powerful, and it is amazing how it can bring us all together. We hope to get to hear more of you play your instruments, or sing in the future!

Spring is Here

Colors and Us

Recently, our camp friends have done a lot of projects using color variations and themes. It would be fun if you could match different colors to your family members and think of why. For example, my dad loves gardening and he is great at growing veggies, so I've given green to my dad. What colors are your family and why?

What have you learned today?

Sasha loves science. She loves art as well. Since she loves those two subjects, she combined them together and made a science comic about death of a large star. A very fun way of showing what you've learned. Create art about one of the things you've learned recently!
