Recreating

Inspired by Others

Have you ever been inspired by someone else? We know many of our friends at TaleTree have. This week, our camper, Jane, shared a very interesting and creative drawing with us. She came up with something called “chicken dragons.” The drawing was very interesting because it showed the evolution of them growing up. She started with them hatching, then went through their childhood, teenage years, and finally adulthood. Another one our campers, Seah, absolutely loved Jane’s creation. Because she loved it so much, she created her own version of it. Jaehwi, another one our TaleTree members was also amazed by Jane’s creation. He told us that he was going to recreate it when camp was over. We are very excited to see what he comes up with and be able to show it to Jane. She is very talented and it is wonderful that her original creation inspired both Seah and Jaehwi to create something new. Being inspired by our friends’ creations is like receiving a heartwarming compliment. It shows that their art touched our hearts while also sparking our imaginations.

We know some of you may be afraid to recreate something in fear that you are copying them. Remember what we always say though! It is always okay to recreate something you see and admire as long as you give credit to the original creator. Before Seah shared her chicken dragon drawing with us, she had told us that her creation was inspired by Jane. We were very proud of her for acknowledging this, and it made Jane happy to know that others really appreciate her art. If you guys see something you love in the future and want to recreate it, please do! It always makes the creator feel happy, and it is a great way to try something new, and maybe even explore a new art style.
