Appreciation
With Mothers Day on the heels of wrapping up Teachers’ Appreciation Week, so many of our campers came with thoughtful, reflective creations about the people who guide and nurture their livelihoods. With portraits of teachers, handmade cards for mothers, and more, it’s clear just how much our campers appreciate the people who care for them. Though we all may have different kinds of relationships with our mothers and teachers, our young campers have a gift of appreciating even the small moments they share with them.
Despite having been home for distanced learning via Zoom, the kids always come with open hearts. They adjust quickly to their teachers and know when they feel safe and protected by them. They desire closer relationships with their peers and leaders and are often better at expressing it than many adults.
How will you choose to express gratitude for the mothers, teachers, and other leaders in your life? Find some inspiration from our campers below!
”Teaching is more than imparting knowledge, it is inspiring change. Learning is more than absorbing facts, it is acquiring understanding.”
- William Arthur Ward
Showing Appreciation
With Mothers’ Day around the corner and Teachers’ Appreciation week, many of our campers took time to create some thoughtful gifts for their loving leaders.
Bag of Fortunes
Have you cracked a fortune cookie after a meal at a Chinese restaurant? Have you ever found any fortune that actually turned out to be true? Lily from the Seoul group created a bag of fortunes and picked a couple of them for us at the camp. Can you come up with your own bag to deliver exciting fortunes? Then offer your family members to pick one from your bag after your family dinner ! We should also see who picks what at our next camp!
