What’s in the Truck?
Our friend Artur in Camp Lagos built a miniature, wooden 16-wheeler truck, and he painted the sides with “San Francisco” in bold, black lettering. Camp Lagos friends naturally tried to guess what could possibly be inside this truck.
Some friends considered Artur’s passion for cars and thought the truck contained Artur’s very own collection of fancy sports cars. Others guessed that it’d be filled with seafood, since San Francisco is known for its delicious fresh catches, direct from the Pacific Ocean. Another friend guessed that the truck might contain all kinds of gadgets, knowing that there are many tech companies in San Francisco, but also because Artur himself is a great engineer already.
This exchange was a wonderful way for us to acknowledge our friend’s talents, but we also talked about our own experiences visiting this famed city. Almost everyone had a distinct memory of visiting this city to do, eat, or see something special. By looking at context clues, we not only can learn about shared experiences, but also learn something new about one another.
What do you think is inside the 16-wheeler truck?
”Without new experiences, something inside us sleeps. The sleeper must awaken.”
- Frank Herbert
Golden Airlines
What’s up with this airplane that’s made entirely of gold? Designed by Emily of Camp Lagos, this plane seats 50 special guests. Who is on the guest list and why?
My Tree and me
National Arbor Day just passed in April. It’s a great time to think of the trees and greens around us. Sometimes, we take them for granted but without them, we can’t be here on earth. Luckily, a lot of them live for a long time as long as we still protect them. Do you have any special story about trees for us? Celeste from our Seoul camp painted this beautiful picture of herself and her sister Noelle planting baby trees. We wonder how much they’ve grown since then!
Nature “Sit Spot”
Bring a notebook and pen/pencil and find any spot either in nature or even in your own home. For 5 minutes, use all of your senses to observe your surroundings: sight, touch, smell, hearing, and taste. Record your new discoveries on paper. Do you see any new birds, flowers, trucks, etc.? Return to the same "sit spot" in a couple days and check for any new discoveries!
Sleeping Bunny
This cute bunny, created by Seoyoung in Camp Seoul, looks pretty tired. Why is this bunny in the bubble? Can you guess what’s going on?
