Step Outside of Your Comfort Zone
Are you Shy?
Fear no more! One of our camp members, Elin, came up with a great idea last Monday to help children get through being shy. She made a creation out of paper that she was able to put her hand in, and move open and closed to talk. Instead of presenting this creation herself, she moved outside of the frame of the screen, and had her creation do all the talking. She used a different voice from her own, truly making her creation come to life. All of the other kids loved this, and thought it was super silly. The voice she used was very entertaining, and her presentation definitely helped break her out of her comfort zone. It was a different side to Elin we had not seen before, but it was amazing seeing how much more comfortable she has gotten during her time at TaleTree.
Using your creation is a great way to talk about something you really want to share but may be afraid to. Instead of you showing your face and doing the talking, you can move aside and let your creation take over. It not only makes you less afraid, but it makes the other kids laugh, and it is very enjoyable. Do you think you could create something that could talk for you? Try it at your next camp!
Being shy is never something bad! It can be scary talking about your creations, especially to people you may not know very well, or may not know at all. But always remember that at TaleTree we are all friends. We are all very excited to see your creations, and you all are talented in your own beautiful ways.
Get People’s Attention for Whales
T-shirts, hats, mugs, and stickers can be great ways to get people’s attention about the things you want to say. Try to create your own design of one these things that says we need to protect the whales in order to keep the oceans safe.
Master Chef
Making good food takes a lot of creativity. Have you ever made any food? Some of you guys have made, drawn, or crafted food before. Show us what you can make!
What do you Doodle?
Sometimes, you find yourself doodling without even realizing it. Find your doodling examples and share them with us. Maybe they are on the back of your math homework!
Never Ending Bunnies
Our of our camp members, Jane, has created bunnies of all different kinds: zombies, fruits, rainbows, fire, and more. Can you create all kinds of dogs, cats, or whatever your favorite animal is?
