New Technology

Do you know what a spy is?

A spy is a person who secretly collects and reports information on the activities, movements, and plans of an enemy or competitor. Another word for spy can be secret agent. A famous spy many of you have probably heard of is James Bond. Makayla, one of our camp members, made a drawing of a ton of spy gear and equipment. She said her sister, Jamilah, helped her come up with the idea after seeing her start the creation by drawing an apple. Her creation sparked a very interesting conversation. We told all the kids about spies, and how nowadays, spies are very lucky because technology is so advanced. Anything can be turned into a camera such as a pen, glasses, or a book. These three things were shown in Makayla’s drawing, and it was so cool to see what she was able to come up with, all on her own.

We are very lucky to have access to all of the technology we do today. It allows us to all meet on TaleTree weekly, and we cherish those meetings. Many of our kids also use iPads or computers in order to create digital art. This takes a lot of skill, and it is so fascinating how much art has advanced over the past 20 years. You guys are very fortunate to have everything you do. Many of your parents did not have a lot of the stuff you guys have today. Zoom makes everything possible today, especially during Covid, and it is great we have something like it. New technology allows us to meet with people from all over the world, and make friends with people who live in different countries.

I’m Cody. I Stand for Autonomy!

Our TaleTree friend, Cody stands for autonomy. Autonomy means I can do things on my own without having to be told. What are some of the things you do on your own that you are so proud of?

Aliens in the Planet Balloon and a Magic Spell

Eli from Camp Singapore created a mysterious scene. We, then, made a story around it. The girl, Starla, caught a planet and made a balloon. In the balloon planet, there lived aliens. They cast a spell on Starla and her tree. The tree keeps singing, and Starla can't stop dancing. Her pet bunny, Stella, found out there was something wrong with her owner. Then she came out of the door under the stairs and called Starla's dad for help....... What happens next? Can you continue with the story and finish it?

A City of Cats

Reina turned New York City into a city of cats. In this Cat City, there are, of course, mice, yarns, and a bunch of cats? Can you "I-spy" them? Can you also think of a city of a place where there are famous landmarks and turn it into a city of the animal you love?

I Am Rooty. I Stand for Safety!

Rooty is all about safety. Safety includes many things, such as preventing us from terrible accidents. Sadly, there was a big stampede on a narrow street in Seoul, Korea during the Halloween celebrations. The whole country of Korea is mourning, and many people from all over the world are sending warm messages to Korea. Would you be so kind to create a ribbon or an emblem to show your sympathy?

We are still missing a lot of things in the app. What do you want to see happen in the Emerald Forest? This will be our first-ever Product Camp and you will meet Matt Hagger, one of the two Founders of TaleTree, who is building the app behind the scene.
